Re-Registering a Device

If you need to move this device to a different Locai account, refresh its credentials, or start a clean setup for testing, re-register it:

  1. From the menu bar, open Applications and launch Setup Assistant (or on Linux, launch it from your app launcher).
  2. The splash screen detects the existing install, shows the device's name and ID, and offers three actions:
    • Preferences. Opens the Preferences window and leaves the current setup untouched.
    • Re-register… Wipes local session state + deployed models + pipeline configs, then walks you through the setup steps again. The old device_id is deleted from Locai Control (best-effort).
    • Uninstall… See Uninstalling.

  1. Click Re-register. The wizard shows a confirmation dialog explaining what will be removed. Confirm.
  2. The wizard then behaves as a fresh install from the Setup Assistant steps: sign in, choose models, permissions, finish.
Model files are removed

Downloaded model files (in /Library/Locai/models/ or ~/.local/share/locai/models/) are removed as part of re-registration. Re-selecting them in the Models step will download them fresh.
